READING AND MATH ENRICHMENT CAMP

Our week-long Reading and Math Enrichment Camp for K–5 students blends literacy and numeracy through fun, hands-on activities designed to build confidence and skills. Campers will explore stories, strengthen reading fluency, and develop math thinking through games, group work, and creative challenges. It’s a dynamic and engaging way to support academic growth while making learning exciting and enjoyable.

THEMES:

July 7th theme: Math Detectives & Story Sleuths
Theme Focus: Mystery & Problem Solving

• K–2: Solve simple addition/subtraction "cases" and read short mystery picture books
• 3–5: Explore multi-step word problems and read junior mystery novels like Cam Jansen or Encyclopedia Brown
• Activities: Clue hunts, decoding math puzzles, storytelling with plot twists

July 14th theme: Wild About Reading & Animal Math
Theme Focus: Animals & Nature

• K–2: Read animal books, count legs and tails, graph class favorites
• 3–5: Solve real-world math with zoo budgets and habitat statistics, read nonfiction articles
• Activities: Wildlife scavenger hunt, pet shop word problems

July 21st theme: Around the World in Words & Numbers
Theme Focus: Cultures & Geography

• K–2: Count in other languages, learn shape names from different cultures, read folktales
• 3–5: Budget for imaginary trips, use maps to solve math challenges, read global literature
• Activities: Passport math stations, cultural crafts, story exchanges
