PRESENTED BY PLAYERS BOX

Sandlot Camps (by Players Box) is simple but powerful. We want to teach kids to PLAY by being active and learning about themselves and others. Each day we use activities and Players Box lessons to fill their toolbox with tools to navigate the pressures all ages feel. By the end of the week, we want each camper to know what it means to be a leader, to know about different personalities and how to turn the negative thoughts we all have and replace them with helpful, encouraging words. We want to show kids how important relationships are and that they can have FUN away from screens and technology. Our coaches and leaders will make connections with students that communicate unconditional care; the care that shows there is no outcome that is important other than their enjoyment and growth.

Campers are put into teams for the weeks. They are always put on teams with friends or siblings, their choice. Each team is led by two coaches and the teams compete throughout the week. A typical day includes 2-3 hours of games, lunch and camp store and a field trip.

**Sandlot Camps (by Players Box) does NOT provide specific sports instruction in skill sports. All activities are play-based and our focus is on character building and teamwork.

History of Sandlot Camps

Sandlot Sports Camp was founded in 2005 by Sam Smith, a Physical Education Teacher in Olentangy Schools.  The camp started in Olentangy and Sam started with just three weeks. Over the years, the camp has continued to grow into an amazing summer tradition for kids all over central Ohio.  Sandlot now has franchises in Worthington, Dublin, Sunbury, Westerville, Hilliard, & Delaware. This will be Dayton's first location and was brought to Players Box by Brooks Hall, University of Dayton Basketball alum. We thought it was a perfect fit with teaching Players Box lessons along with allowing and encouraging kids to play and compete each week. We look forward to seeing our camps grow and exposing so many new kids/families to Players Box.
